Winter covers will be deployed
today on January 6, 2014. In addition, it is possible that we will
experience a substantial frost delay at the Main House Practice Facility.
Covering greens is a common practice done on ultradwarf putting greens
during the winter months. This process helps our greens hold heat in the soil
profile, prevents plant desiccation and protects turfgrass plants against
extreme cold temperatures and wind.
We will deploy covers today at 1:30 PM and more than likely remove them on
Wednesday morning, after the extreme cold temperatures have subsided. The
practice facility green will be covered for the next 2 days.
We will communicate with the golf shop before we uncover the practice
facility green.
Please contact the golf shop with any questions you may have.
